Penrith Goes Orange !
Come and meet Paddington in Penrith along with a huge dollop of marmalade, shopping and festival fun - yes, Penrith Goes Orange is back on Saturday 18 March, as the town joins in the World's Original Dalemain Marmalade Awards & Festival.
Penrith will be festooned in orange, bursting with entertainment and jam packed with marmalade and artisan stalls. The event will also raise funds for the Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, with lots of opportunities throughout the day for the public to support this much-loved local organisation.
It's Penrith's first big event this spring so get the date in your diary. Anyone who enjoys a spot of shopping will be spoilt for choice. Shop windows will be aglow with orange for the festival, as traders compete to have the best-dressed window. There'll be lots of Totally Locally Orange Offers from the town's shops and businesses, along with a Marmalade & Artisan Market featuring all sorts of foods and crafts by Cumbrian producers. Even Penrith's sausages are getting in on the act. Cranstons Butchers have created a special Marmalade Festival sausage.
Thanks to Visit Eden for the logo and text - check out the Visit Eden website or the link above for more information about the day in Penrith and the marmalade festival itself, which takes place at the nearby Dalemain Mansion.
The free Orange Express shuttlebus will run between Penrith and Dalemain throughout the day so why not head out to the Marmalade Awards ceremony at the historic house
